An instruction manual for the mind.

Have you heard that you have an unconscious mind?  You have and it’s a very hard working mind.  It runs and preserves your body, stores and organises your memories and maintains instincts and habits.  The unconscious mind is critical to our survival, so we need to listen to it and take good care of it.

So how do we as individuals do the things we do, our behaviours?  Would you believe that every second, 2 million bits of information enter our consciousness through our sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste.  If we tried to make sense of and store all of that information, we would overload very quickly.  We can actually only handle 134 bits per second of information, so we delete, distort and generalise the rest.  Our unconscious mind instantly filters the information using our experiences, our language, memories, decisions, preferences, values, beliefs and attitudes and builds a rich context around that which it desires to keep.  It is this rich context that gives us an internal representation about an event which in turn produces an emotional state which affects our physiology and produces our behaviour.

As our life experience builds, we sometimes produce emotional states and behaviours that are not helpful to us.  NLP has been developed to help us to understand and modify the internal representations that we form about specific events, allowing us to produce positive emotional states and helpful behaviours.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming was originally developed by Richard Bandler, John Grinder and others some 30 years ago and has since been developed to produce a wonderful trail of techniques which come together to allow us to use the language of the mind and make transformational life changes.

NLP Coaching will allow you to:
